8. Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo
Built by Church Missionary Society in 1896 and known as St Andrew’s College, the naming was later changed. Emmanuel Alanyande College of Education, Oyo is one of the oldest colleges in the country. Originally established as Grade 11 teachers training college the institution was later upgraded to college of Education. The institution currently boosts a massive schools which include Art and Science, Education, Languages, Vocational, Science and Technical Education.

Established in 1979, the College of Education, Agbor was official open for educational activities in 1981. Incorporated by the then Bendel state government with mission of training quality and sound teachers, the college has lived up to expectation with their Educational standards.

11. Federal College of Education, Obudu
The Federal College of Education, Obudu was established as a regular College on November 30, 1982 by the first Executive President of Nigeria, His Excellency, Alhaji Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari. At inception, the College operated in a temporary site within the premises of Government Secondary School, Obudu. Today, however, that initial temporary site is now the permanent site while the then proposed permanent site of the College at the Bebi village in Obanliku Local Government Area, eighteen kilometres on the Obudu Cattle Ranch Resort road has become a satellite campus.
12. African thinkers community of Inquiry College of Education
African thinkers community of Inquiry College of Education was incorporated in 2004 with the vision of facilitating selfawareness, selfdevelopment and selfempowered existence. The college was established by the great Philosopher, the very Reverend Father Stan Chinedu Anih. The institution has since then been providing quality education to its student.
13. College of Education, Igueben
Sitting at number 13 is College of Education, Igueben. Established by the then Bendel State government, the site was formerly used as army camp ground during the civil war. As at when established it was temporary three teachers college before being turned into College of Education, Igueben in 1977.
14. College of Education, Offa
College of Education, Ilemona via Offa, Kwara State was established in 2006, having been licensed by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) to offer various education courses leading to the award of Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE). The College turned out its first set of NCE graduates in July 2009 and 10 years ago now have been delivering quality education.
15. Muftau Lanihun College of Education, Ibadan
This is one of the fast rising college of Education in Nigeria. Mufutau Lanihun College of Education (MULCOED) is a network of inclusive learning communities. Undergraduate, graduate students, and continuing professionals study with nationally recognized faculty to become teachers, clinicians, administrators, psychologist, educational research scientist etc.
16. Akwa Ibom State College of Education, Afaha Nsit
This is one of the few old colleges in the Akwa Cross region of Nigeria. Located in Afaha Nsit, Nsit Ubiumlocal Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, the college boost a high number of student on yearly basis. 17. Delta State College of Education
Delta state college of Education Warri fondly called COEWARRI was established in 1979 to meet the need for qualified teachers in primary and secondary schools. The institution was initially established as an advanced teachers college at Ihogbe, Benin city on the 2nd of October 1979 by the then Bendel state government. Dr. H.S.A. Aliyu served as the founding provost as at then, but the college was made official on the 5th of May, 1980 by the late Professor Ambrose Alli.
18. Tai Solarin College of Education, Ogun
Established in 2005 Tai Solarin College of Education, Ogun is unique tertiary institution is known for its standard. Apart from being the first of its kind in Nigeria, she also shares a unique feature as the only institution in the country that offers both the Bachelor’s degree programmes in education (B.Ed.) and trains National Certificate of Education (NCE) graduates within the same academic environment.
19. Osisatech Politechnic and College of Education, Enugu
Osisatech Politechnic and College of Education, Enugu was established since 1988. The institution is well recognized across the country as one of the best in terms of their educational standard.
20. College of Education, Zuba
College of Education, Zuba is 20th on our list. This institution was setup in 1996 and was initially sited at the defunct teachers college still in Zuba, F.C.T. Over time now the institution has grown now competing with even the older college of education in the country in terms of academics and other areas as well. In May 2000, the college was closed down due to need for restructuring and later reopen the next year 2001 with a more improve and quality academic standard.
